India celebrates Republic Day in honor of the day when the constitution of India came into effect in the year 1950. Republic day is declared as a national holiday in India. All government and private workplaces, schools, colleges remain close or they celebrate this day by hosting India’s national tricolor flag and by distributing sweets among the children and the other people. India has always used to commemorate this day by organizing a grand military parade in the national capital of India, New Delhi. This grand military parade signifies India’s fearless, graceful, and power-packed army team. It also demonstrates India’s rich cultural heritage.

Republic day is one of the most important national festivals of India amongst the three national festivals of India (Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti) celebrated on the 15th of August and 2nd of October. Republic day is celebrated on the 26th of January by every citizen of India because on this day the “Constitution of India” came to enact in 1950 by replacing the ‘Government of India Act’ and India became a democratic republic country after the Independence in 1947 from the Britishers and became a republic.

To showcase the beautiful relationship between the cities, states, and countrymen of India enormous beautiful tableaux designed by different ministers of India are exhibited during the parade to show the unity among the Indians. The parade follows the president of India as the supreme commander of the military. The president of India unfurls the national flag. People from different countries, cities, and states gather to see this historic Republic Day parade and the tableaux showcases. 

India is a fearless country that is ready to fight against any antisocial movement or in any dangerous situation. India’s government is very polite and humble to the rest of the countries and has also helped the other countries in this difficult situation. Every year on Republic Day function, some VIP people from other countries like presidents and some others are invited as chief guests for Republic Day function celebrations.

Importance of Republic day
Republic day is not a normal festival it is the national festival of India and it is important for all the residents of India of every caste and religion and is celebrated by everyone, though after being Independent in 1947 India was not fully independent and was following the laws made by the British Government after the newly announced “Constitution of India” under the chairmanship of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar India became an established democratic country on the world stage. Hence if now we are free to take decisions independently or raise our voice against any type of misconduct or oppression (odds) and it’s only possible because of the democratic nature of our country. This is the reason why it is so important.
