There was good news for NPS employees.There is good news for the employees who are covered under NPS and now the government is giving this new facility. The central government said that in case of death of such employees while on the job, their families would have two options, first to avail the old pension plan or to avail the facility of deposit fund under NPS.

The employee must state the choice in survival
The Central Government has announced to provide this facility under Rule 10 of CCS Rules 2021. According to the rule, in case of death of a government employee, his family will get this facility. However the employee will have to state the choice in survival.

In the midst of the Corona crisis, the personnel department has taken a big decision regarding the pension of central employees. Central employees will now be able to choose between the NPS and the Old Pension System and will have until May 31, 2021. The announcement will only benefit central employees who were appointed before January 1, 2004 but joined later.

The Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare issued a memorandum to employees to choose one of the two options. Deadlines are issued for various processes under the Office of Memorandum. The country has been fighting Corona for the past one year. In this case a different time limit has been extended for its different date.
