The Gujarat government has decided to postpone the notification regarding the reduction in the grade pay of primary teachers in the state, which was made almost a year ago.

Through this notification dated June 25, 2019, the state government had reduced the grade pay of more than 60 thousand teachers recruited after 2010 in primary teachers from Rs. 4200 to Rs. 2800.
Typically, pay grades encompass two dimensions: a "vertical" range where each level corresponds to the responsibility of, and requirements needed for a certain position; and a "horizontal" range within this scale to allow for monetary incentives rewarding the employee's quality of performance or length of service.

(2) The Director, Office of Primary Education and Government Secondary, Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar under the control of government, grant-in-aid and self-reliant schools and the teachers of that school must follow the instructions of the academic calendar to be decided by the aforesaid officials for the new academic year.
 
(3) All ancillary proceedings regarding strict implementation of all the above instructions shall be undertaken by the Director, Office of Schools, Director, Office of Primary Education and Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
